About Abdelhaq Sari

Abdelhaq Sari has been the Member of Parliament for the federal riding of Bourassa since the general election in April 2025. He represents a dynamic and deeply diverse constituency located in the eastern part of the Island of Montreal, including the borough of Montréal-Nord and part of Ahuntsic. Bourassa’s population is predominantly francophone and stands out for the richness of its cultural communities. This linguistic, social, and demographic diversity is, for Abdelhaq Sari, both a strength to be celebrated and a responsibility he is committed to upholding in the House of Commons.

Before entering federal politics, he served as a city councillor in the Marie-Clarac district of Montréal-Nord from 2017 to 2025. As a member of the Ensemble Montréal team, he played a key role, notably as Vice-Chair of the Public Security Commission, and actively contributed to the work of the Economic Development and Housing Commission. He was recognized for his dedication to major issues such as access to housing, social inclusion, technological development, and the fight against racism. His municipal work was characterized by a pragmatic approach based on listening, transparency, proximity, and the concrete improvement of public services.

Abdelhaq Sari holds a DESS in Information Technology from ÉTS and an MBA in Management and Technology from ESG-UQAM. He also completed the coursework for a Ph.D. in Business Administration as part of a joint program involving four major universities: ESG-UQAM, HEC Montréal, McGill, and Concordia. In 2011, he passed the comprehensive doctoral exam, demonstrating strong theoretical and applied expertise in management.

Since 2007, he has been a lecturer at the School of Management Sciences (ESG UQAM), teaching in areas such as business intelligence, artificial intelligence, project management, and enterprise architecture. His academic rigor and hands-on experience support an integrated vision of public innovation.

In Ottawa, he serves on the Standing Committee on Access to Information, Privacy and Ethics (ETHI), contributing to discussions on privacy, digital data governance, and institutional transparency. He is also an active member of several interparliamentary groups, including the Canada-Africa, Canada-Europe, and Canada-Italy Parliamentary Associations, as well as the Parliamentary Assembly of La Francophonie and the Inter-Parliamentary Union, strengthening Canada’s voice on the international stage.

Beyond politics, Abdelhaq Sari has long been engaged in community work. He served as President of the organization Soleil des Orphelins from 2014 to 2019 and remains a board member. Through this commitment, he continues to support concrete action for vulnerable orphans in Africa and Canada, promoting values of solidarity, social justice, and humanism.

Abdelhaq Sari embodies a new generation of parliamentarians who combine technical expertise, academic engagement, and community roots. Convinced that politics must remain a true public service in the noblest sense, he works each day to faithfully represent the citizens of Bourassa, connect local realities to national debates, and advance a form of political action that is rigorous, compassionate, and forward-looking.
